“Truth for Truckers” *June 6, 2014* Psalm 126 “They
that sow in tears shall reap in joy”
This Psalm gives three pictures of
revival. In (v.1, 2) the Psalmist views the past revival: “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them
that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with
singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD has done great things for
them.”
Then the Psalmist gives praise to God for
the present: “The LORD has done great
things for us whereof we are glad”. (v.3). But, immediately the request for
future revival is given: “Turn again our
captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.” (v.4). The results of future
revival are then given: “They that sow in
tears shall reap in joy. He that goes forth and weeps bearing precious seed
shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing their sheaves with him.”
(v.5, 6)
Personal soul-winning will occur through
the revived saints going forth obeying the great commission given in John 15:16
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen
you and ordained you that ye should go
and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain that whatsoever ye
shall ask of the Father in My name He may give it you.”
The saint that goes out into the
highways and hedges with the power of the Holy Spirit’s reviving presence will
have compassion on those who are lost. They will give forth the precious seed
of the Word of God and God shall bring forth the increase, reaping the sheaves which
are “Souls for Jesus” which must be our continuing battle cry, Drivers!
