Culture Collapse Continuing

‘Truth for Truckers’ *July 12, 2014* Psalm 12+ ‘Culture Collapse Continuing’

David’s plea in (v.1) underlines the Condition of the Country: “Help, LORD; for the Godly man ceases; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.” Where are the Godly men? Why are the faithful failing to be a force for good? The next verse tells the story: “They speak vanity every one with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.” (v.2). Three things characterize the failures of the once Godly men who are overtaken in their pride:
  1. They are speaking vanity or empty, worthless talk with their neighbors
  2. They flatter with their speech intending to win them over to their vain ways
  3. Their heart is double when they speak, saying one thing and meaning another

God’s response is sure: “The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things: Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, says the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him.”

Their continuing failure is described because instead of doing right, in pride they proclaim that they will prevail, their lips are their own, and they deny the fact that they answer to the LORD. So, the LORD rescues those who need Him and gives them a promise of His unfailing Words which are pure “As silver tried in a furnace of earth…Thou shall keep them O LORD and preserve them from this generation forever.” David, then, concludes with a statement underlining a fact in the Continuing Culture Collapse: “The wicked walk on every side when the vilest men are exalted.” (v.8)

This is a Clear Commentary on the days in which we are living! The vilest men are being exalted and the wicked are walking on every side. 1. The Hollywood/TV crowd is displaying wicked and perverted so-called entertainment which is covered over with nudity and blasphemy. 2. The wretched music industry is spewing out filth into the minds of the young and old alike.3. And, those in places of power are agreeing with and supporting the abominable sin of Sodomy across our land. Did not the Lord say: “As it was in the days of Lot/Noah…so shall it be in the days when the Son of man is revealed” (Luke 17:26-30)?

These three descriptions are but a few points underlining the overflowing wickedness that has consumed the USA because: 1. the Godly man has ceased to speak out and be a witness for Christ, 2. the faithful are definitely failing 3. and most Churches are dead! The devil is successfully attacking the family, the Church and the government! The foundations are being destroyed as we speak, Drivers. There is a War on Women in the home, so get your house in order and pray now for nationwide Revival!

Psalm 150-Praise ye the LORD

Truth for Truckers” *June 30, 2014* Psalm 150 “Praise ye the LORD

The last and one of the shorter Psalms is the most prolific in commanding the Believer to “Praise the LORD”. Over a dozen times in six verses the word Praise appears. And, it is in this last Psalm that a list of eight musical instruments is also recorded:
1.      The Trumpet
2.      The Psaltery
3.      The Harp: Israel’s national instrument
4.      The Timbrel
5.      The Stringed Instruments
6.      The Organs
7.      The Loud Cymbals
8.      The High Sounding Cymbals

The Psalmist lets nothing out when he closes with this statement: “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” (v.6). This ends our 150 Day study of the Psalms and it won’t be long until all of these messages will be online at truthfortruckers.blogspot.com and truthfortruckers2.blogspot.com

Psalm 149-The LORD takes pleasure in His people

Truth for Truckers” *June 29, 2014* Psalm 149 “The LORD takes pleasure in His people

Once again there are over ten exhortations and commands to rejoice and praise the LORD in this Psalm. The last “New Song” in the Psalms is recorded in (v.1) “Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and His praise in the congregation of saints.” This anthem of praise begins with praising and the singing of a new song unto the LORD “In the congregation of the saints”. This corporate worship by the saints is exactly what God desires in the Church!

Notice, there are three positions of the saints:
1.      In the congregation they are praising and singing a new song unto the LORD (v.1)
2.      In glory they are joyful singing aloud upon their beds (v.5)
3.      In battle the high praises of God are in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hand…to execute judgment upon the heathen and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron. (v.6-9)

But, the emphasis upon singing, praising, and rejoicing people of God shows the condition of His people when  He takes pleasure in them (v.4) for then they are the obedient and loving throng of worshippers which supplies them “This honor have all His saints” (v.9). So, once again, Drivers, let us praise the Lord and sing the New Song unto Him!

Psalm 148-All Creation Praises the LORD

Truth for Truckers” *June 28, 2014* Psalm 148 “All Creation Praises the LORD

This (14) verse Psalm contains (12) commands to “Praise the LORD”! It covers all of creation and in the process there are four core reasons for praising the LORD.
1.      “Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for He commanded, and they were created.” (v.5) This is referring to the angels, all His hosts, the sun moon and stars, the heavens of heavens and ye waters that be above the heavens.
2.      The second reason is in (v.6) “He has also stablished them forever and ever; He has made a decree which shall not pass.”
3.      “Let them praise the Name of the LORD for His Name alone is excellent, His glory is above the earth and heaven.” (v.13)
4.      “He also exalts the horn of His people, the praise of all His saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto Him. Praise ye the LORD.” (v.14)

These four reasons for praising focus upon His creation, His eternal establishment of what He created, His excellent Name, His exalting of His people Israel which also includes His people in the Church. The bottom line is the numerous commands to praise the God of Creation which once again shows the importance of praise, and the power of praise in the eyes of the Lord. These demands from the LORD for praise must be understood in the light of the 24/7 praise He received in the days of the Tabernacle and Temple which in today’s world are missing.

But, God is not without a plan, and His plan is giving each born-again Believer the indwelling Holy Spirit making them the Temple and the praise which has ceased in the Temple at Jerusalem in 70 A.D. when the Temple was destroyed must now come from each Believer! So, Drivers, let us praise our Lord for the great things He has done in our lives!

Psalm 147-Praising the many acts of God

Truth for Truckers” *June 27, 2014* Psalm 147 “Praising the many acts of God

In the last six Psalms, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150 the word praise appears over (40) times. It is like a magnificent crescendo of full worship to the Lord from David and the Psalmists in general. The title of Psalm 147 is “Praising the many acts of God” for there are over (24) acts of God in this (20) verse Psalm that also contains commands to praise God

The first verse lists (3) reasons to praise the Lord: “Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” Notice, singing praises is the norm for singing to the LORD is found over (70) times in the book of Psalms. And, rightly so, for the word Psalm in essence means song. Each and every Psalm was sung by the Temple musicians and the people who attended the worship at the Tabernacle and eventually the Temple.

In (v.2-6) there are eight actions of the Lord:
1.      The LORD does build up Jerusalem
2.      He gathers together the outcasts of Israel
3.      He heals the broken in heart
4.      He binds up their wounds
5.      He tells {counts] the number of the stars
6.      He calls them all by their names
7.      The LORD lifts up the meek
8.      He casts the wicked down to the ground

This list is followed by two commands to “Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God” (v.7) after which eight more actions of the LORD are given and then another set of commands are given: “Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.” (v.12).

Then there are twelve more actions of the LORD and a final command to “Praise the LORD” making a total of six commands to all Believers to sing and praise the LORD. This is why our emphasis on the New Song is in our every day messages. This is one of the great omissions of the Church.

Singing Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs unto the Lord should be a continual practice of the Holy Spirit-filled Believer for we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit: “What, know ye not that your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost?
(I Corinthians 6:19): “Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. Speaking to yourselves in Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:18-20)
